The Bathroom - a place to get cleaned up! E-mail

The average bathroom is one of the most toxic places in the house, full of unnecessary chemicals to clean both our bodies and the actual bathroom. The supermarket cleaning aisle is stacked high with numerous products promising superior cleaning results, but you don't need to choose these harmful chemical products to keep your living environment clean and hygienic.

These commercial chemical products are marketed to be 'fast acting', supposedly saving time, killing germs more efficiently, and keeping your home environment safe. Surely the warning labels which indicate a product as corrosive or toxic should be warning enough that perhaps the chemicals are not safe to use around the home.

The extra cost of these 'powerful cleaning' products just isn't worth it. Commercial cleaners are usually each marketed to a specific cleaning job, filling the cleaning cupboard with unecessary tubs and bottles. Instead, consider the natural options which neither threaten your family's health, or empty your wallet.

These alternative, safe cleaning options are easy, cheap and do not require any extra effort on your part. Few ingredients are needed to make simple cleaning solutions which are not the chemical cocktails marketed by companies. Many multipurpose solutions can be made in advance and saved for future use. By getting a knowledge of which ingredients and combinations work best for the job at hand, jobs become quicker and time is used more efficiently.
